After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Ben Tre. Enjoy a boat trip along the Ben Tre River, one of the tributaries of the Mekong, passing mangrove-lined waterways and witnessing the bustling activities of the local market. Stop at a traditional brick workshop to see how bricks are made by hand. Continue along Cai Son Canal, winding through lush coconut groves, and visit a coconut processing workshop to see the stages from husking to finished products.
Travel deeper into the waterways to a coconut candy workshop, where you can sample the sweets, taste seasonal fruits, and enjoy traditional folk music. Experience a tuk-tuk ride through coconut groves, then have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, relax on a rowing boat as you glide along shaded palm-lined canals. Overnight in Ben Tre.
After breakfast at the homestay, enjoy a leisurely bike ride (about 1–1.5 hours) from Dong Hoa to Tam Binh, passing durian, sapodilla, and longan orchards. Meet local residents and visit a village market before returning to the homestay for refreshments. For those not wishing to cycle, it is possible to ride pillion on a motorbike with a local guide.
Continue by car to Long Xuyen, stopping in Sa Dec to visit Kien An Cung Pagoda and Huynh Thuy Le’s house, made famous by Marguerite Duras’s novel The Lover. Explore the bustling Sa Dec Market, rich in tropical produce and fresh seafood. On the way to Long Xuyen, visit the Cao Dai Temple and a crocodile farm. Overnight in Long Xuyen.
In the morning, visit the floating market and floating village in Long Xuyen for an authentic glimpse into daily life on a tributary of the Mekong River. Take a boat to Cu Lao Ong Ho Island to see the small museum dedicated to President Ton Duc Thang, then enjoy a bike ride around the island’s peaceful landscapes.
Transfer to Chau Doc, where you will visit the local market and take a boat trip to the floating fish farms and Cham village. Continue to Tra Su Nature Reserve, a rich wetland ecosystem with a unique cajuput forest and diverse birdlife.
Return to Chau Doc to explore Sam Mountain (287 m) with its colorful temples and pagodas, including Xu Lady Pagoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau Temple, and Tay An Pagoda. For panoramic views over the Vietnam–Cambodia border, walk to the summit or take a motorbike taxi (at your own expense) in time for sunset. Overnight in Chau Doc.
After breakfast, continue your journey toward Ha Tien along the scenic border road between Vietnam and Cambodia. En route, stop at a small beach in Kien Giang to visit Chua Hang Pagoda and the Phu Tu Rock, a coastal landmark once shaped like a father and son, though the “father” rock collapsed into the sea a few years ago.
Arrive in Ha Tien and check into your hotel. If time permits, visit Mac Cuu Temple, dedicated to the 18th-century governor of the region, and Thanh Van Cave. Overnight in Ha Tien.
After breakfast, travel back to Ho Chi Minh City, stopping along the way for photographs if you wish. Arrive in the late afternoon. End of services.
Optional extension: For those continuing to Phu Quoc Island for a beach holiday, transfer to the pier for the high-speed boat.
