The journey begins as we leave the hustle of Hanoi behind and head towards the tranquil valleys of Mai Chau. On the way, you’ll pause to visit the Muong tribe, where a glimpse into their daily life and traditions opens the first chapter of cultural discovery. The winding road also offers a breathtaking stop at Thung Khe Pass - a panoramic treat for the senses.
Reaching Mai Chau around noon, enjoy a home-cooked lunch hosted by a local family. Then, take a leisurely trek through verdant rice terraces and peaceful villages like Pom Coong and Na Phon. Each step reveals more of the Thai people’s connection to land and tradition.

Today’s road leads deeper into the northwest highlands. As you make your way to Son La, the changing landscapes of lush orchards and tea-covered hills in Moc Chau plateau come into view.
In the afternoon, continue along winding mountain paths that open up to misty valleys and the legendary Pha Din Pass - a scenic highlight offering moments to pause and take it all in.

Start the morning at the local market, where vibrant colors and traditional dress bring the rhythms of Thai daily life into focus.
Continue with visits to significant historical sites - the Dien Bien Phu Museum, A1 Hill, the War Cemetery, General De Castries’s Bunker, and the symbolic Old Muong Thanh Bridge spanning the Nam Rom River.
The journey then shifts into more remote landscapes as you drive through a string of ethnic villages, catching glimpses of Kho Mu, Huoi Chan, and Dzao communities along the road to Phong Tho.

Today, let’s set out on a rewarding 3 to 4-hour trek through the stunning Muong Hoa Valley. As you pass Lao Chai and Ta Van villages, encounters with H’mong and Dzay people reveal the rich cultural layers woven into daily life here.
