After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Ben Tre. Begin with a boat trip on the Ben Tre River – one of the tributaries of the Mekong River – gliding along the mangrove-lined waterways. Witness the lively activities at the town market along the riverbanks.
Stop at a traditional brick workshop to observe how bricks are made by hand. Continue along Cai Son Canal, winding through lush coconut groves. Visit a coconut workshop and see the different stages of processing, from husk removal to finished products.
Make another stop at a coconut candy workshop to sample the sweets, enjoy fresh tropical fruits, and listen to local music. Take a tuktuk ride through the coconut plantations, immersing yourself in the countryside atmosphere. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant (not included).
In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful rowing boat trip along a shaded canal lined with palm trees. Overnight in Ben Tre.
After breakfast, transfer to Cho Lach and Tra Vinh with a stop to visit a bonsai garden along the way. Cross the Mekong River by ferry. Arrive at Cau Ke village, home to the Khmer community in Tra Vinh province, and check in at your homestay.
Lunch will be served at the homestay. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely bike ride through Ba Mi village. Explore the surrounding countryside and meet local farmers working in their vegetable and fruit gardens. This is a wonderful chance to experience rural life and the warmth of local hospitality.
Continue to visit the cathedral and Ba Mi School (closed during summer holidays). End your ride with a stop at a Khmer pagoda before returning to the homestay for refreshments. Dinner and overnight at the homestay. (Note: motorbikes are available for those who cannot ride a bicycle.)
Start the day with a bike ride through nursery fields. Continue to visit several Khmer villages including Canh Dai, Tra Khao, and Giong Lon. Then travel by car to Huynh Ky’s family house, dating back to the early 20th century, which features a blend of Oriental and Western architecture.
On the way to Long Xuyen, stop in Sa Dec to visit Kien An Cung Pagoda and Huynh Thuy Le’s house, made famous in Marguerite Duras’ novel “L’Amant – The Lover.” Explore the vibrant local market, abundant with fruits, vegetables, and fresh fish.
Continue to Long Xuyen, visiting the Cao Dai Temple and a crocodile farm along the way. Overnight in Long Xuyen.
In the morning, visit the lively floating market and floating village in Long Xuyen, set on a small tributary of the Mekong River. Discover the daily life of river communities.
Take a boat trip to Cu Lao Ong Ho Island to see the small museum dedicated to President Ton Duc Thang. Enjoy a bike ride on the island, taking in the tranquil rural landscapes.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon. Check in at your hotel. End of service.
