The journey begins as you’re picked up at your hotel after breakfast. We say goodbye to the vibrant rhythm of Hanoi and make our way to the very northern edge of Vietnam – Ha Giang. Along the scenic drive, we stop for a visit to the Twin Mountains in Quan Ba, a natural wonder often wrapped in mist and legend. The road continues through forested hills and remote villages before arriving in Yen Minh in the late afternoon. Check in to your hotel and rest for the evening. Overnight in Yen Minh.

After a quiet breakfast in the highlands, we continue deeper into the rocky plateau toward Dong Van. This region is home to nearly 20 ethnic groups whose cultures, colors, and customs blend to create a truly vivid picture of local life. On the way, we make a meaningful stop at a H’mong village and visit the impressive Palace of the Vuong Family, once home to the H’mong King. Upon arriving in Dong Van, take a walk along Pho Bang Street, where time seems to pause among ancient houses made of clay bricks and tiled roofs. Overnight in Dong Van.

The road today leads us through one of the most iconic mountain passes in Vietnam. As we head to Meo Vac, stop at Ma Pi Leng Pass to take in its jaw-dropping views — a deep canyon carved by nature, layered in mist and myth. Then comes a tranquil boat ride on the Nho Que River, where vertical cliffs flank both sides and the water flows a cool, quiet green. Each moment here is a postcard in motion. Overnight in Meo Vac.

We leave behind the steep passes and head to a village where time slows down. Thon Tha Village, located in Phuong Do Commune, is just 10 kilometers from Ha Giang City, yet it feels like a world apart. With only around 90 traditional stilt houses, life here moves to the rhythm of nature and community. You’ll spend time walking through the village, soaking in the simplicity and beauty of the daily lives of Tay people. Dinner and overnight in a local house in Thon Tha.

Wake up to birdsong and the gentle light of the mountains. After breakfast, enjoy some free time to wander through the village, take photos, or have quiet conversations with locals. Around noon, we begin the journey back to Hanoi. The landscapes slowly shift from mountain to city as we return to the capital by late afternoon. End of services.
